On Sunday, 6 February, we officially inaugurated our first satellite campus at the Foreign Domestic Worker Association for Social Support and Training (FAST) Hub, also to be referred to as Aidha @ FAST Hub. The in-person ceremony was graced by Aidha CEO, Jacqueline Loh and our special guests from FAST, FAST President Mr Lim Fang Sung, Chairperson of FAST’s Training & Development Committee Ms Helen Tan, Chief Executive Director Mr William Chew, and several members of the management team.

Campus Managers, Joy and Warih, and Campus Manager Dewi.

Aidha @ FAST Hub has a small office and a large fully-equipped classroom, which can be split into two smaller learning spaces when required. It’s an important and exciting opportunity for us to return to in-person learning and expand learning options for the future, with an initial focus on Essential Computer Skills (ECS) classes for current Module 1 students.

Exciting new community space!

As mentioned by William in his short speech, the FAST Hub will offer a wide array of exciting activities for MDWs, from a fully equipped gym and an entertainment centre soon! He ended his speech with an encouraging quote, “Many helping hands achieve our end goal,” and welcoming Aidha to the big family!

The ceremony is not complete without the presence of Aidha’s energetic Campus Operations team, led by Campus Manager Dewi Wahyu. Volunteer Campus Associates (VCAs) attended the event, proudly clad in Aidha orange, to cheer us on this momentous day.

Welcoming new friends at our new campus!

What better way to commemorate the official commencement of our satellite campus than to have our signature introductory short course, Introduction to Financial Education! This is the first time we held our Intro workshop in person since the pandemic began. It was the  perfect opportunity to share a slice of the amazing Aidha experience with our new friends!

A fun group shot with workshop participants, mentors and student volunteers in our classroom!

Led by seasoned mentors Paolo Adragna and Lisa Siemsen, our participants learned about the importance of setting financial goals and forming a growth mindset. We also played the fun Money Game where participants discussed the many relatable scenarios regarding financial decision making.

“It’s nice to see the students face-to-face,” said mentor Paolo, sharing that he last taught an Aidha class in-person in 2019 – almost three years ago! We hope that when restrictions ease as the public situation improves,  we will be able to offer more in-person short courses to new students.

Onwards and upwards!

All in all, this is a memorable milestone for Aidha and we are super excited to be part of this amazing community! By working together with other organisations like FAST, we hope to continue our work and widen our reach to enhance the wellbeing, financial security and social support networks of MDWs in Singapore.

We look forward to seeing you at Aidha @ FAST Hub!
