Meet Ofelia Espejo Pagdilao, a powerhouse of resilience and financial wisdom, and the winner of Aidha’s Financial Plan Competition 2024. As a single mom of three with eight grandchildren, Ofelia’s life has been full of big responsibilities and inspiring choices. When she first arrived in Singapore in 1993, her primary goal was to support her family and ensure her children’s health challenges were overcome. Now, she has not only met that goal but has transformed her family’s financial future, all while inspiring those around her to take control of their finances

“Aidha taught me to budget, save, and think entrepreneurially,” Ofelia shared. Her financial journey began with eye-opening lessons on tracking expenses and setting long-term goals, like securing a retirement plan and life insurance tied to investment. Through Aidha’s courses, she has honed skills she uses every day, both at work and in managing the family farm and businesses back home.
But her dream extends beyond just financial stability—she aims to create a “legacy of hope” where her efforts inspire her family and community to believe in a better future. This hope is about more than financial success; it’s about showing that hard work, education, and perseverance can transform lives.

Ofelia’s advice to others? “Start with what you have, and don’t fear failure. Each setback builds courage and strength.” As she continues to educate her children on financial independence and entrepreneurial thinking, Ofelia remains driven by her commitment to give back.
